"A quiet light"
There is a quiet light that shines in every heart. It draws no attention to itself though it is always secretly there. It is what illuminates our minds to see beauty, our desire to seek possibility and our hearts to love life.

Well, I'm certainly blushing and it's because of my black and white photography, so I think the old gag fits! I was surprised and happy to learn Saturday night that a series of my photos won the Grand Prize in the second annual Walk STC YOUR Downtown Photo Exhibit.
As tends to happen at this time of year, I've become retrospective. Sorting through my photo files is a painstaking but enjoyable way to relive my year, and has led me to attempt to choose my favourites of the black and white images that I shot in 2013. In a fabulous travel year that took me to Argentina in April, and Switzerland, France, Germany and Holland in September, I had no shortage of photographic opportunities and inspirations.
"Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale." ~ Lauren DeStefano
