« Happy International Champagne Day »

I only drink Champagne when I'm happy, and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company, I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I am not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty." ~ Lily Bollinger

This year, International Champagne Day is today - Friday, October 24. So it stands to reason that my first thought of the morning was Noel Coward's famous quote,
Why do I drink Champagne for breakfast? Doesn’t everyone?”
I've found a few more quotes to add to my Champagne Day post of two years ago. All, you'll notice, are from wise women:
Champagne is the one thing that gives me zest when I feel tired.” ~ Brigitte Bardot
There comes a time in every woman’s life when the only thing that helps is a glass of champagne.” ~ Bette Davis
Champagne is the only wine that leaves a woman beautiful after drinking it.” ~ Madame de Pompadour

Whatever your philosophy of Champagne, enjoy some bubbles today!
